Background

In the days leading up to the start of the 2014 World Cup, I had an urge to start a personal project that documented the tournament in a graphic way.

Approach

After a bit of trial and error, it seemed like an interesting exercise to take each of the competing nation’s flags, breaking the elements apart and rebuilding them into a new visual interpretation. These would then serve as graphic backdrops for team sheets and additional data such as groups, staff and historical achievements in the competition.

Result

A series of 32 team sheet posters and 32 graphic only variant posters, completed daily throughout the duration of the competition. A selection of these are available to buy from the shop, which will be relaunching soon.
